$5,000 “You Will Because You Believe You Can”
Military Scholarship!

Our founder and president, Ruth Adkins, completed her Master of Science in Organizational Leadership through CSU-Global Campus in April of this year as she endured a rather unique transitional period in her own life. Those of you who know Ruth understand why she perseveres through challenges to achieve a goal, and that is to encourage our military audience to do the same! We, as an organization, are celebrating with Ruth on the completion of her MS Degree as we extend this $5,000 tuition scholarship, available for award to CSU-Global Campus exclusively.

The reason Ruth has been able to overcome obstacles and work toward the finish line is due to the spirit of determination she inherited from her parents. Her father, Bill Curry, who tragically lost his life in August 1989, had a significant influence on Ruth’s determination. Just two weeks before he died, Bill shared a very special birthday gift with his daughter. In a brief but poignant conversation with Ruth after he wished her a Happy 31st Birthday, he shared a message of encouragement that she shares proudly with others every chance she gets. During their chat about how things were going in a new responsibility Ruth had at work that had her feeling she might not be able to accomplish her goal, her father - a man of few words - surprised her by giving Ruth wisdom that would carry her through some of the greatest obstacles of her life.

Bill smiled, patted Ruth’s shoulder, and in a show of support he said,

“You will, because you believe you can”!

This Father’s Day, 2011, we celebrate Ruth’s completion of her academic objective  and honor Ruth’s father, Bill Curry, an Army Veteran, as we open a campaign to award a $5,000 “You Will Because You Believe You Can” Military Scholarship! This scholarship will be awarded  to one deserving military service member or Veteran interested in completing one of the Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree programs offered at CSU-Global Campus, the online platform for Colorado State University.

To be eligible for award consideration of this $5,000 scholarship award, applicants must submit an essay, 500 to 1,000 words in length to Inspiring Alliance Military Support Network, explaining how you will use your degree program to improve your professional objectives. The winning scholarship recipient must also meet the normal admission requirements for new students as outlined on the CSU-Global Campus web site.

This campaign opens officially on June 10, 2011, and scholarship essays are accepted through midnight July 31, 2011. All entries will be reviewed in early August, 2011, and the winning essay will be chosen and announced on August 10, 2011. This schedule will allow our winning service member or Veteran plenty of time to schedule a position in one of the online programs at CSU-Global Campus.

This $5,000 "You Will Because You Believe You Can" Military Scholarship will be paid directly toward tuition and book expenses for CSU-Global Campus. Military tuition rates posted for Spring, 2011 term are $250 per credit hour for Bachelor’s Degree programs, and $375 per credit hour for Master’s Degree programs (subject to change for Fall semester).
